Hi recently I started editing in HDV. I was very excited until I found that Vegas 7.0 apparently can’t handle editing this footage. At first I thought it may be some corrupt files or something because it would crash while I was importing new media. But now it crashes regardless of what I do a short time after I open the HDV program file.

I believe that my system is good enough to handle HDV & it is defiantly above the minimum system requirements posted by Sony for HDV editing. I loved this program working with DV footage & hoped that it was as simple with HDV.

Does anyone know anything about issues with this program & editing HDV? Can anyone tell me anything that would remedy the problem? Also, if this is a wide spread problem among 7.0 users, did they fix it effectively in 8.0? Worth the upgrade for editing HDV?

Thanks a lot for the help. My system specs are as follows:

    -Dell Dimension 8400 Pentium 4 3.0Ghz
    -Windows XP Pro SP2
    -NVidia 8600 GT 512Mb
    -2.5Gb of Ram
-Raptor with plenty of space for program files
-1Tb My Book connected via firewire for footage files
