  Vegas capable of previewing on Graphics card’s Component-Out ?

  Hi,

  is Vegas capable of doing the preview to a broadcast monitor (with component-in) through a graphics card (Nvidia) providing component-out ?
  Would it be enough to choose the secondary display in vegas’ settings ? Who has experience with that ? I would like to get scuh a graphics card, so I can’t just try my thought…

  No, it is not. The video card will provide its own chroma smoothing/post processing that is great for some applications, but not for monitoring video when accurate color and contrast are the goal.
  Choices for quality output are:
  DV/Firewire
  Secondary Monitor/DVI
  SD/SDI (proprietary card)
  HD/SDI (Proprietary card)

  and in all of the above, a properly calibrated monitor is required.

  I’ve been using the described firewire solution for quite a while now. With some project I find myself thinking about, that it would have been better having an HD Preview in the first place, so I have to come back to this Topic…
  I think I would prefer a solution for my secondary display port with my graphics adapter which has a dvi connection and can run up to 1920×1200 pixels in digital mode or higher in analog mode, but analog is no option i guess…

  What do I have to consider to find the right preview monitor for me ?
