  • VEGAS scrolling and zooming problem. Am I going insane?

Surely someone else has had this problem?

Basically, scrolling and zooming (using the video track motion) just doesn’t seem to work properly in Vegas!

I have two keyframes in Track Motion. In the first keyframe, my object (let’s say a circle) is small. In the second keyframe, five seconds away, I’ve expanded it so that it’s big. I want a smooth, even “zoom” of the circle starting out small and zooming until it’s large.

Sounds simple. But when I then press play (or render, or anything), the actual speed in which the circle zooms in isn’t even at all. In fact it’s inanely uneven! It starts out zooming in incredibly fast, then slowls down into pretty much slow motion as it gets to the second keyframe. I don’t understand what’s going on!

I understand that this explanation isn’t especially good, so I can upload what the final render turned out like to illustrate if people want to see what I’m getting at.

    All help appreciated!

change the keyframe properties for SMOOTHNESS & TYPE to get the result you want.

Unfortunately, I’ve tried every type, and smoothness from 0.00 to 100.00, and cannot see a single bit of difference between any of the types or smoothness ratings…

    Smoothness needs to be zero

Keyframe type needs to be linear

Then you may need to to a pre-render or ram render to see it smoothly.

Er… none of these seem to make a difference. Rendering shows it to be the same as before.
I’ll try splitting the event and slowing/speeding up sections of it to try and get the speed even.

The speed should be constant once you change the Smoothness to 0 and you are using a linear keyframe. I’ve done this MANY times.
