  Vegas 8 Catupture with Vista

  I can’t figure out how to make Vegas 8 see my A1U. This is a new machine with Vista. Vista wants me to use Windows Media or Nero to do the capture. Vegas doesn’t see the camera.

  I could go ahead and capture using WMP or Nero, but I want to use the Vegas Capture.

  Any ideas?

  Remember that Vegas has TWO capture apps:

  External – used for capturing DV
  Internal – used for capturing HDV

  Make sure you’re using the correct one.

  That was it. I have been editing on Vegas since ver.4, I should have figured that out. I usually shoot HD, but I was helping my son with a DV project.

  Vista is so strange, It takes me quite a while to figure out where Microsoft moved all the handles and levers that I’m used to. It’s a little like moving a blind mans furniture around.

  Anyway whenever something is not working quite right I automatically figure that I have some Vista configuration problem.
