Default Audio Filters
I notice that when I add an Audio Track, Vegas8 automatically adds three Audio Filters (albeit with neutral settings). This bugs me and I end up deleting them so that I am not confused by the “green” filter icon, on the track.
Is there a way to turn off these default neutral Audio Filters?

Delete them. Then right-click a blank area on the track header and choose the option to set this as the default.

Edward, are you referring to the track’s “Set Default Track Properties”?
When I remove the default Fx’s, then uncheck the “Track Fx” within “Set Default Track Properties”, they still seem to show up when I create a new audio track.
I am sure that it is pilot-error, but I don’t know what I might be doing wrong? Why does Vegas have these 3 Audio-Fx settings automatically appear, anyway? The Video track does not automatically load Fx’s. Just curious.

Yes, I do “remove” them, so that the green icon goes gray. And, within the “Set Default Track Properties”, I uncheck “Track Fx”.
But, when I add a new Audio Track, the default green (3 Audio Fx’s) re-appear on the new track.
This is not a big deal, since they seem to have neutral settings (and I can, and do, remove them). But, they are an annoyance and I fear that they will cause me, eventually, accidently apply a Fx to the audio. I would prefer to start with no Fx’s on Audio and add them, manually, if needed.

DO NOT “uncheck” the Track FX option. You’re telling it to NOT save your changes if you do. Leave it checked.

Ahh! That did it. The annoying Audio FX’s are now gone (and stay gone).
