Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Problem: Nested veg file playback

  • Problem: Nested veg file playback

Posted by Vic Santiago on December 18, 2007 at 8:05 am

I created a 30 second intro using media generated text with pan/crop effects and track motion. The file also has a music bed.

When I inserted this veg file as a nested file in the main video I am editing, the playback of the pan and track motion effects is not smooth…stutters, jerks, etc….

How do I fix this problem?

    Thanks,

    Vic

PS: My computer has a dual core pentium processor with 1G of ram which is adequate for this project.

    Not necessarily.
Coupled with the buffer to playback whatever else might be on the timeline, it may well be that you’re eating the available RAM. Particularly if you’re using 3D TM.
Nested veg files perform differently on various machines. YMMV. Of course, your project will render correctly, but that doesn’t help much w/Preview. SHIFT+B will render to RAM

    Thanks again, Douglas.

I just rendered the intro file and inserted that into the main project’s timeline.

Of course, any further edits on the intro required me to render again and insert, etc.
