Newbie Qs: video length and screen capture
Hi,
Recently downloaded the trial version of Sony Vegas Movie Studio (basic, non-Pro/Platinum) and have been playing with it the last 24 hours and have two questions:
1) while working in the timeline and pre-viewing the movie, the movie continues even after the last ‘event’. For example, the movie has 30 seconds worth of footage/audio, but when previewing, the movie continues for well over a minute. Is there additional footage beyond the 30 seconds in the timeline that i’m just not seeing, will this be corrected when ‘complete’, or is there a way to ‘cut’ or ‘end’ the clip at the 30 seconds desired?
2) is there a way to do screen capture, that is, recording and making a video of the movements on my PC’s monitor?

1. The cursor will continue to play until you pause or stop it.

As far as your first question, there must be a small snippet of video or audio down at the one minute mark. If you sctvate the return to beginning arrrow on the controls your cursor will go to the start. Correspondingly if you activate the go to end arrow where does the cursor go to? If it goes past what you think is the end of your video, there is something down there. You can expand your view of the timeline to magnify everything to find some little frame, etc. Alos its possible that you might have a marker down there. Delete whatever you find down there and you will now have a correct ending.

In case anyone sees this in the future, i tested by cicking the arrow to go to the end of the video and indeed it stopped where i watned. The ‘marker line’ continues past the last part of the video until the stop or pause button is pressed.
