  Loading time of HDV project in Vegas Pro 8

  All has been going well since figuring out the intial launching problem of a couple of weeks ago. I do have a question of curiosity. After capturing m2t files from a wedding we shot, I found in coming back the next day and launching Vegas Pro 8, that it took a very long time for the project to load. I didn’t time it but it must have been 4 to 5 minutes. It this typical, when dealing with m2t files?

  If you’re using an external drive or mixed drives whose letters have changed, I’ve seen it slow down loads by quite a bit. That’s one possible cause. Or, if the system has lost its .sfk files, it’ll take a while to rebuild them.

  Thankyou Douglas. I felt it was a non issue for the most part, but mostly just curious. In the end, I’m just happy to have the system finally running.
