I filmed a video with a 16×9 CCD camera. Edited in Vegas 6 and rendered in main concept mp2. Resulting DVD playing on a 4:3 TV wasn’t letterboxed and had that distorted scrunched up look.

What setting should I use to make it play properly on a 4:3 TV.

You didn’t render to the NTSC widescreen template?

“You didn’t render to the NTSC widescreen template?”

I just used the default template.

right and that caused the problem. In the template menu there is a NTSC widescreen template and that’s the one you need to use to take care of the problem. You’ve got to use the correct template or else you get bad looking results.

Suppose you’re mixing 16:9 and 4:3 on the same timeline. You want it to play on 4:3 and 16:9 sets without distortion. Still use NTSC wide screen?
