Can Vegas or DVD Architec make copies of DVD’s
Posted by Rick Rintala on August 17, 2007 at 6:55 pmI have a DVD project that I did. I have since lost the project files. Can Vegas make copies of this or do I need something like Nero 7?

August 17, 2007 at 8:01 pmI dont think I asked my question correctly. The only thing I have is a finished DVD. My project was done with Vegas 4.0 I need to make copies of this DVD. Can Vegas 4.0 do that?

August 17, 2007 at 8:24 pmno, Vegas 4 cannot do this.
You’ll need to rip the DVD with some other tool, and then import the VOB files to DVD Architect to re-author the DVD.Douglas Spotted Eagle

August 17, 2007 at 9:05 pmI was looking at Nero 7, but the reviews on CNET are horrible. Do you reccomend any apps like that? I ripped my dvd with DVD Shrink, but I dont think it creats VOB files, at least i cant find them in the directory. Any hints?

August 17, 2007 at 9:07 pmIf you only need to make a complete copy of the previously authored DVD, then you can copy the Folders to your hard drive, and then use software to burn a copy from the DVD Folders (you don’t always have to copy them to your hard drive first).
Perhaps the latest version of DVDA Studio will let you burn from DVD Folders (they do have a Trial available…)

August 18, 2007 at 10:37 amTo copy a disc I have authored, I follow this procedure:
1) Create a folder on my hard drive
2) Open the DVD where I can view the files
3) Copy the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders to the new folder I created on my hard drive
4) Open DVD Architect and choose to BURN
5) Tell it to burn an “existing” project an point it to the new folder I created
6) Go through the rest of the “next/finish” buttons to tell it to burn. -

August 18, 2007 at 11:46 amThat’s exactly what I was trying to say — although your steps are clearer 🙂
I just wasn’t sure if the OP’s version of DVDA would allow the burn from folders — I’ve only got the more recent versions of DVDA 3 / 4 / 4.5

George
