    Hello gentlemen
I need some advice. I authored a dvd quite a while ago. Now the client wants some changes made. I archive the DVD file but i did not keep the components for authoring, pictures, backgrounds, music etc..

I can go into the vobs and edit them in Vegas but is their any way i can get them back into the DVD structure as to keep the authored DVD intact and burn. I guess if i could edit and save back to the same vob….but Vegas want save as vob.

Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

Sorry, Vegas will not allow you to make changes to your vob files (mpeg) then make a new mpeg without recompressing the video, and it won’t mux the audio to create a vob (that happens in the authoring process in DVDA).

    OK Gray,
Just needed to know if it could be done as to avoid re authoring the DVD. Will there be much quality lose re compressing the vobs back to meg2 and if so is there a tried and true method to keep it to a minimum.

by the way i do have the original video stream i produced off vegas timeline’ It’s a M2V file. Vegas wont except it for editing, nor the AC3 file i produced off the timeline.
