You can render uncompressed, but what do you plan on doing with the file?

The VERY highest I’ve seen IF you have Cineform Prospect is to render an avi file there at 1920 X 1080 with conversion to 709 colorspace at 4:4:4. Vegas will first say it can’t do it but if you will go into the “Configure” button you will get a Cineform menu that allows it. You should make sure the “Properties” of the Veg file are set to match. That is the highest quality I’ve seen out of Vegas.

The question can’t be answered without knowing what you’re wanting to do with the “file”.

Sorry guys I posted that last night just before I went to bed, I finished that video for a client, (my first one 🙂 ) and he is really picky about the quality, the final product will be used for stores demo and for the net and to promote his pruduct in general. I am not to worry about the net version i know that it has to be compressed, but I tried a few uncompressed rendering, AVI and MOV, wow what a difference in quality, but for some reasons none of my players can play it back I get major skips I tried VLC,Windows Media Player, Quicktime player and they all can’t play it back.
So basically I am looking for the highest quality for a DVD format.

    Thank you!

For DVD, you have to use MPEG2. The bitrate you can use will vary depending on the length of the video. If it’s really short, you can keep the bitrate very high (8,000,000). You don’t want to go above that or you could have issues with players being able to handle it.

Click the CUSTOM button, then the video tab and you will find controls for bitrate. At least in Vegas full program.

It’s in the Custom options. What version of Vegas are you using? (please indicate the FULL name – i.e. does it include “Movie Studio”?)

Version 7 i picked up NTSC DVD -16:9 max bit rate and it seems to work I guess that’s the best quality I get for a DVD.

One more question how can I add black before the video starts I selected all the tracks one by one but when I moved them only one moved, plus I need all the markers to follow since all the images are sunc to the music, I also tried insert but that inserted a track.
and how long do I need black for?
