  Tape format question

  Hi,

  I’m planning to for a new camcorder, my choice seems to be a panasonic. (NV gs320)

  It claims that it works with miniDV tapes, but the tape format is
  called DVC.

  What do you think, is this just a shortage something like
  “digital video casette” ;), and it will be comptaible with other
  miniDV, or is it really a newer tape/file format?
  Will this be handled by Vegas?

  In another word, will it play my older miniDV tapes?

  DVC is indeed short for Digital Video Cassette.
  In other words, it’s the same miniDV tape with “new and improved” packaging 🙂

  Does the 3ccd worth the extra (about 30%) price?

  May be anyone using nvgs320: how are you satisfied with it?

  I think the extra CCD is well worth the price for an SD camcorder. I have been very happy with the color representation of my Panasonic PV-GS400. I did however feel I traded up when I sold it and for an additional $100 got myself a Canon HV20 HDV camcorder.
