I clicked ‘Make DVD’ in DVDA3 & it tells me that my MPEG2 file needs to be compressed even though it represents only 30% of disk capacity. Just for the heck of it I clicked optimize & fit to disk & it says that there is enough space for the project & that the bit rate does not need to be adjusted.

I only thing that was unusual about the MPEG2 rendering was that I told it to do it in progressive scan. Could this be the reason that it want to re compressed? If so why doesn’t it accept progressive scan since Vegas doesn’t warn you it will create a problem? Can I get the current project to disk without re compressing?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, progressive scan is not included in your choices for project formats.

Thanks for the replay. All my DVD players & my TV screens support progressive scan so I suppose that if I want the best DVD I’ll have to use some other authoring program. This seems like a retrograde step to have to do this.

    Thanks in advance
