When I try and capture video from the DVX100 after I press the capture button it opend the sony vegas capture window but then I get a windows error message that says ” the divice Conexant Falcon video capture could not be opened”. Any ideas on how I can fix this or turn on the device etc…

I’m not familiar with V7, but an idea:

Probably you have more capture devices, let’s say a TV card,
    which vegas can’t setup properly.

Plug in your camera to firewire, set it to “vcr” mode, start capture program, and in the video menu choose something like “microsoft dv-vcr”
This can be done after the error message.

Then you’ll able to capture from your camera.

    Hope I could help.

    Hi,

    nothing to loose.
I guess you’re using the vegas capture, assuming you do so,
setting the video to “microsoft dv-vcr” is just something like selecting an input device.

This is the way you have to do it until you remove that other capture device.
