  New to Sony Vegas. Please help!

  What is a crossfade? And is there a way/tool to create an automatic crossfade?

  this is why you have vegas and not one of the other NLEs: just drag one piece of video over the edge of another and voila. automatic crossfade, i.e overlapping the edges of two clips
