2 ways to ‘freeze’ and image. Well 3 if you count putting it in the refrigerator 😉

    1) Place the cursor on the image you want to freeze-set the preview to BEST FULL and make a SNAPSHOT of that image by clicking on the disc icon over the preview screen. Save it to where you want it, do have your way with it in Photoshop or whatever and then reimport it back into Vegas-drop it on the timeline and you’re set. Oh yeah, I prefer to do it as a PNG.

    2) a bit trickier but works well. IF you want to manipulate the frame in Vegas you can either use the above action to make a still and do the work in Vegas OR you can split the clip at the point you need to, drop a Velocity envelope on it set it to ZERO and then manipulate the frozen frame. It works but honestly it’s easier to do a still image and bring it back in.

    3) I guess there’s no need to discuss this one in detail however the freezer might be a better place

Interesting I’ve never taught about that.. the freezer that is 😉
I tried it with the copy snap shot to clipboard but I think the dimensions are not the same the new file is a bit more squeezed I guess I will have to play with it abit

    thanks alot!!!

I believe that vegas saves it in the proper DV aspect ratio. Photoshop normally edits square pixels so it looks “squeezed”. I think someone said the new photoshop software lets you set the aspect ratio of the image to correct this. Anyone?

It’s not by much maybe a few horizontal lines less it just looks like the image is jumping no smooth transition

I tried with photoshop and paint and I still get the wrong dimensions I get a black frame around the pict tried to fix it with the crop pan option but it doesn’t do a good job!!!!!!

Absolutely. Do it all the time. Just drop a velocity envelope on the event and drop the velocity to 0 on that frame (as was mentioned in your first response).

That works good but I need to export the file to photoshop cartoonize it and put it back at the end of the clip but I get a smaller frame then the original frame in vegas and it’s squeezed

If you just save a snapshot, when you re-import it, it should be the exact size you need.
