  Rip CDs “speed” for hi-quality MP3

  Hi,
  I have a bunch of Music CDs which I would like to convert to MP3.
  There seems to be a choice of sampling frequencies which impacts quality and filesize.
  Is there a recommended sampling frequency for reasonably high quality “ripping”?
  (Maybe a better way of asking is: what is a “popular” sampling frequency?)
