I connected my Canon camcorder to the firewire port & tried capturing my video. The video was shot in true 16×9 & displayed as such on the playback screen of the camcorder. I have now tried capturing the video twice with DVDA3, once with the capture setting set to 16×9 & once set to automatic. As soon as I open it in Vegas I can see that the clips are just 4×3. I can right click on one clip & change it to 16×9 & it then displayed correctly on the playback preview.

Since I have the Vegas project set to 16×9 wide screen I can’t see why the clips are 4×3. I suppose that I could change each clip one at a time to 16.9 so that the pixel ratio is set 1.468 but I am unsure if doing so will result in a loss of quality. I never had this problem happen before when I capture wide screen footage. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

Why not use the capture tool in Vegas. I think you’ll find that works better, then trying to capture with DVDA.

I must have been having a senior moment. I can’t think why I said I tried capturing using DVDA 3 since I used Vegas.

    Thanks in advance
