  • Scrolling text title template in Vegas 7.0

    Hello,

I’m still trying to learn the basics of Vegas 7.0 in my spare time. When I used Ulead VS 9, it allowed me to use very creative/predefined templates for scrolling text, but I can’t figure out how to do this in Sony Vegas. The only thing that I have figured out is using the track motion feature and creating keyframes and having the text scroll up that way, but the movement is very basic. In addition, the movement is a bit “jerky” even when I create keyframes every second and increase “default track motion smoothness” to 100 in the editing tab in preferences (all the keyframes are on “linear” and the sliding scale is also at 100).

Ulead had many templates and one of them that I enjoyed had text scroll up from the bottom to the top of the screen, but the text would expand as it reached the middle of the screen and then contract as it reached the top of the screen. I can always render them as avi and import from Ulead, but that would defeat my purpose of relying solely on Vegas 7.0.

Any help is always very much appreciated.

Are you wanting a scroll (horizontal) or a roll (vertical)? There are several presets for rolls in Generated Media > Credit Roll.

    Hi,

I am looking to create vertically scrolling text. I did stumble upon the presets for credit roll under generated media, but I was looking for something just a bit more creative such as having the title roll from the bottom to the top as if the words were taped to a cylinder (I’d like to say something like: “Please insert parts 3-4” or something similar at the end of each multi-part DVD). Is this achievable in Vegas 7.0?

    Thanks again.

Try applying the Spherize (or other) FX to the generated media.
