How to add 1 or 2 frames (pictures/text) to a video? “Hypnotize!”
Hi,
I am working on a sort of “Myth Busting” hypnosis project. I have a video, and some “Secret Messages” I’d like to put into it in order to (hopefully) induce the audience into scratching their head while they watch it.I am somewhat new to the software, but can get around. I have a series of photos and frames with words on them that I’d like to place into a video tour. (the tour has nothing to do with scratching). But even if I use the trimmer tool to make the images really small on the time line, it still flashes on the screen and you see it…and get suspicious of the video. So I know I’m not making them just 1 or 2 frames if you still notice them.
What is the best way to add in these secret frames to a video?
Once the frames are added, you shouldn’t notice them in the playback.Once it’s done and shown to the audience, I still have to be able to prove the frames are in there and DID show (by showing the vegas timeline).

Your basic assumtion that a single, different frame is not noticeable, is incorrect.

You don’t really have to use the trimmer to do this. Just place the event on the timeline and drag either end to shorten up the event. You will need to zoom in once you make it fairly small so you can shorten it to one frame (or what ever length you want it). You might even try placing it on the track above your main video track and lower the opacity somewhat of the upper track. If you place your cursor on the event of the “flash” you can see the opacity level as you change it. If you split your main video track and insert your “flash” event you might hear a glitch in the audio since you will want to keep your main video and audio in sync.

And Gary is correct…you will see even one frame. That’s why it might be best to place it on a track above your main video and lower the opacity.

Yes you will see 1 frame, if you pay attention and don’t blink.

I would capture the still – write on it what you want and put it back but you would have to duplicate the clip without the frame and put it over the one written on at a lower capacity (or duplicate the still with and without text and put the without above at lower capacity).
