    Hi all,

This is my first post here.

I’ve found this site a very useful resource and commend you on your efforts.

    Hoping you can assist:

We’re trialling Mocha for tracking on some footage shot on a Sony HDR-SR12 (AVCHD .mts format – 1920×1080, 25 fps, 60i).
However, Mocha can’t open mts files – what format/settings/etc would you recommend changing it to for use in Mocha?

Secondly, the area we wish to track in Mocha is not actually flat (it’s fabric, so it changes shape, although it’s on a contrasting background). Further, the shot is quite long (6000 frames), and on the few preliminary tracking tests we’ve done the results tend to drift quite drastically within the first few hundred frames. Is there any way to optimise the footage so it tracks better, or another workaround?

I suppose the other option would be to reshoot with a flat surface mounted on the fabric that mocha could track more easily – just wanted to rule this out first.

Thanks very much for your help.

I’d recommend Quicktime (Animation codec) movies, but you should try posting this question to the Imagineer Systems COW forum. They make Mocha.
