    Hi all,

I use a Sony FX1 camera with an external RODE mic. When going through my footage in Vegas, I hear a lot of audio drops. (Small cutting in and out). This seems to happen when a lot of noise is being recorded (Many dropped frames in Vegas when I capture as well. (Not sure if audio can cause dropped frames). When it is quiet, you cannot notice it as much. Any ideas??

    Thanks in advance

Definitely shouldn’t be happening – do you monitor audio through headphones whilst recording – if so, does the audio drop out “live”?

Check and double check all mic connections. Wiggle them and listen for any crackles etc.

Alternatively, are the drop outs there if you playback in camera and listen.

The third possibility is something related to capture – if the dropouts are only there after capture, then it’s something system related, raising questions such as – Is the HD you’re capturing to fast enough?
Does it have plenty of room available?
    Does your HD need defragging.
