  • removing gaps in timeline (is this ripple)

Hi, I’m editing a lot of really small clips out of larger ones. Typically with my work i have just selected events to end and moved them but with this I’m going thru the timeline and editing it there thus leaving a ton of large gaps.

how do i “remove gaps” which is what it was called in a media 100
    is this “ripple?
if so I’m not having any luck!!!

    Thanks in advance

You can do ripple editing in Vegas as well. Ripple is one of the buttons on the toolbar. It also has a dropdown arrow so you can pick whichever ripple method you prefer.

You can also use scripting to remove all the gaps. For example, I frequently use the gap/overlap tool in Excalibur to perform this function.
