    Hey everyone,

I was wondering if there was a way to import an AVI file with just the video and not the audio. Or if there is a way, once both the video and audio from that file have been imported to delete just the audio and keep the video (I mean permanently, so that the peaks aren’t built when Vegas starts up). My project keeps glitching with this audio, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

I’m using Vegas 4.0 by the way.

Right-click and drag it to the timeline. From there you can select video only or audio only.

Thanks, but this doesn’t seem to work for me. After I right-click and drag, Vegas still builds peaks for the audio portion of the file when I start it up.

Once it’s in the timeline you can right click on the audio and choose cut or delete.

Now you will have to re-render the file as a AVI.

Now when you bring it back into Vegas It will contain a audio
track but will be blank with no audio peaks.

If you want to add your own sound simply right click on the audio again
and choose cut or delete and drag in a sound clip in that track.

    Hope this helps,
