  • Question about rendering a Cineform file in Vegas 6.

Posted by Roymaya on June 14, 2006 at 11:20 pm

Anybody know why when rendering a file in Vegas6 using the “Cineform HD connect 2.1” codec, it creates a file with a color depth of 32 instead of 16? In other words, if you look at the properties of a file, it shows it as 1440x1080x32 instead of 1440x1080x16? This is a problem for me because DVFilm Maker will not accept files with 32, it wants 16. I looked in Vegas but I can not find an option where I can change this behavior. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

If I am not mistaken, Vegas comes with the CineForm 2.1 codec. Connect HD uses an improved 2.5 codec. That may be the improvement but you can ask CineForm. They are usually very helpful and reply quickly. You can reach them at

By installing the Connect HD trial, you will be upgrading the installed Cineform codec. You can safely uninstall Connect HD and you will be asked if you want to retain the new codec – just say “yes”

    Its a “freebie” from Cineform
