Test Only in Arch 2.0?
How does Test Only work? Will it tell me if a DVD is bad? Is it good idea to use?
Does Arch 2.0 have certain burners that it works better with than others?

According to the Help file: … select the Test only button to perform a test burn without activating your burner’s laser.

Yes, I had already read that. But since it doesn’t say anything else, I was wondering if anyone has more insight on it. Will it insure against bad burns, is it something we should always do? etc.

I don’t think it does anything else than testing the speed of your burn.

It’s something I’ve NEVER done – I just figured I didn’t want to waste the time. I just did a direct burn and now know that it works with my burner.

Maybe it made sense when the blank media was $5 per disc. Like you, I have no idea what is accomplished.

It’s not the cost of the DVD I’m worried about. It’s the time of Burning and Viewing! Why burn and view a bad DVD, if you could know ahead of time that it’s bad!
