  Dru-500A problems burning disks in DVD Architect 3

  When I attempt to burn a dvd the Burning stops and I get a message that there is a IOCTL error. I have the latest firmware (2.1a) and the drive works fine with Ulead DVD Movie Factory as well as Roxio Media Creator. Any suggestions.

  Sorry I don’t have any help for you but for what it’s worth I had a DRU500A as well as the 540A or whatever. The next upgrade and had problems with it in both DVDA 1 and 2. Finally trashed them and got a decent burner. Went with one of those Mad Dog’s and now I got the new HP Light Scribe.

  Problem I found with Sony was they’re really particular about what kind of media you can burn. I’m talking about brands. Sony has a list of “approved” media brands on their web site. Most of which I couldn’t find at the time. Their tech support wouldn’t even help me unless I had one of ‘their’ approved brands to run the tests.

  So you’re not alone in having problems with those burners.
