  How to get proper audio level output when rendering in Vegas 5

  I’ve run into this problem – I set the audio levels to how I want them and when I playback the video in the project timeline, the audio sounds fine. However when I go to render it, the completed render’s audio comes out a very low volume. I’ve only tried this when rendering to MPEG-2.

  Is there a setting I’m not adjusting properly for output? I use the defaults set by the application. I’ve tried using audio in both MP3 as well as .WAV format with the same results.

  Since you’re going to MPEG2, I’m assuming you’re going to DVD. DVDs use AC3 so that is the format you should be rendering (definitely not mp3!). The symptoms you are describing can be reversed:

  Prevent AC-3 Volume Reduction
