why the lower cpu usage?
Hi,
I looked at task manager the first time since
I began to use my new machine.
(Asus P4P800E-deluxe, P4 3GHz, 1 GB Dual DDR (2*512M)).While rendering, cpu usage is between 53..61%.
Why not 100%?
Yes, it’s about HT, and Vegas processor affinity
is checked to both processor, and it really uses
both, but not at 100%.
That means, vegas does not use the whole potential
of my machine.
Is this normal, or do I have to tweak something?TIA,

It IS normal for Vegas 5, but Vegas 6 should be right up there in the 90s.

Does that mean Vegas 6 will render faster than 5 on the same computer?

Without tricking Vegas 5 into using more of the CPU (two projects rendering at once or newtork render with two nodes), yes, Vegas 6 makes better use of the availabloe CPU power and renders faster.
