Vegas editing, Funny frames?
Hi guys,
Im fairly new to vegas, howevever im experiencing some weird problems.
Problem 1.
Im editing a video, cutting it up, putting transitions into it and things, however there are some really annoying frames appearing and odd times.For example, I have two clips, simply fading into each other, clip A fades out and Clip B fades in. As clip A is fading out, (fairly long fade out) it will flash a frame of clip B before its even at 50% opacity. It will do this several times through out the fade.
Though this only happens in some parts. Most of my fades work fine without any glitches.
Problem 2.
In one part of the fades, I had two videos fading in and out. I then decided to move one of the videos to a different point in the movie and when I do this, it seems as if the clip i moved, has taken frames from the other clip it was fading with and mixed it in every now and again for 1 or 2 frames.Problem 3.
This is very much like my other problems, but when I play back my video, either through scrolling frame by frame with the keyboard, or viewing it after I render, some of the clips play through, then appear to jump back several frames, then continue to play to the end.These problems are all becoming very frustrating as I am creating a portfolio for my University appliation and I did just spend HEAPS on vegas 6.0
Im running vegas on an AMD Athlon 2400, with 512mb of RAM. I know I seriously need more RAM as my source video is very large (1.4gb’s)

I doubt that an increase in RAM will make any significant difference for you.
First thing I would check is to see if you actually have stray bits of media left over from earlier splitting or other opertaions.
Make a new video track above, carefully select only the main piece of media and use the 8 key to pop it up to the new track. That should reveal if there are any stray bits lying around.
