  • Higher quality text on title screen in V5 & DVDA menus

Posted by Hollington Lee on July 26, 2005 at 9:44 pm

    Hi All,

As my subject indicates, I’m not completely happy with the text quality in V5 or DVDA.

I always render Best, as I often use many photos in my projects but often times, the thinner lines on fonts tend to get “filled in”. I know I could always use a font with a thicker stroke but if I can’t, then what?

    Any suggestions?

    TIA.

I would recommend you read the tutorial Great Titles With the DV Codec

Just beacuse you want to use text with thin lines… does not mean you can or should. You need to known and work within the limits of the medium.

Thank you Liam for the tutorial reference. It’s a good one.

I come from a background in print design so I’m still getting used to the limitations of DV/TV resolution. Fortunately, there are lots of typefaces that look good on video.

    Thanks. –Hollington Lee
