I want to improve my sound setup but I am not sure of exactly what to get. I am looking at a Behringer UB1002FX EURORACK MIXER and a Behringer B-2 Pro mic. What else do I need to get/consider? Any good DVD or book you can recommend on sound? Should I consdier different mic or mixer? Can I use the setup to record to a Pioneer casette recorder? I want to record to and capture from the deck as well as direct to my computer.
I have a USB sound card. Should I consider M-Audio or similar?
    Thanks,
    Harold

I’d highly recommend the Studio Projects large diaphram C-1 condenser mic.
Go for an M-Audio cards. I’m using one of those Behringer 4 input mixers.
Meets my needs. The mic’s about 2 hundred US, card 1 hundred or so. You can likely pick up a mixer like the one I have for 30 US.
If you do a lot of VO work and you don’t want to mortgage the house this is the way to go.
And yes the Studio Projects mic is Made in China. I’m old enough to remember when we joked about Made in Japan. It’s a great mic,—-GREAT!
    Good luck.

Thanks. A just talked to a friend of mine and found out he has a Behringer and he likes it. He has Shure SM48 mic that he uses.

I’ll second the Studio Projects recommendation. If you’re on a budget, you can go with the SP B1, which goes for about a hundred bucks and sounds great. I used it all the time.
