I’ve created a one-page menu, with chapters along the right side and “Play Entire Reel” on the left. I cannot find a way to return the viewer to the main and only menu page when the chapter has finished playing. I double-click the chapter link, adjust “end action” to Link – Most Recent menu. But at least in preview, at the end of the chapter the DVD just keeps on rolling into the next chapter. I’ve tried setting the end action to stop — no change.

Is this happening because I have these chapter links on the same page as the “Play Entire Reel” page? Or is there some other adjustment I need to make?

Note, I did set the end action for “Play Entire Reel” to link to Most Recent Menu, and that works just fine.

What you’re describing is default behaviour for chapters.

To play just a single Chapter, drag the original media separately to the menu, open its time line and drag the in and out flags to the beginning and end of the chapter. DVDA recognises that it is the same media and doesn’t double up.

    Peter,

Thanks for the advice. Very clutzy way to do things. I find that it’s about impossible to get a clean play of just the chapter this way. So I’ve gone back to re-render each chapter separately, with about 2 secs of black on head and tail in order to get clean plays. Maybe version 3 is better. Hope so.

Rick, you might try linking “end action” to the actual name of the menu rather than to “most recent menu”.
