I’m wanting to create a map with a moving line showing a route of travel. I have begun going the route of putting a map on one track, making a copy of it and placing it on the track above the first one. Using the cookie cutter filter, but then get stuck there

Instead of cookie cutter, animate a bezier mask. Easiest way is simply to do a wipe transition between the two versions.

Don’t know how. And the other way, do you scan a pic of a map, then take that copy and draw on it and scan it again?

That would probably work too…with a LONG wipe in between the two.

You would scan your map, then add the line to the graphic file in a paint program. That way, they are exactly the same except for the line.

… and, with Vegas’s Transition Envelope you can change the speed at which the line is revealed or even pause it whilst you describe a pause in your trip.
