motherboard recommended for Vegas 5.0
Hello,
I am looking to upgrade my PC computer by installing a new mobo. Does anyone have a recommendation for a mobo to use with Vegas 5.0? I would like to stick with AMD products but I would buy Intel if necessary. Any ideas for mobos, processors and/or chipsets?

It’s been a while since I used an AMD MoBo. I did once and din’t have any problems. However I heard and read to stay away from the VIA chip-sets.
I think the recomendation was to use Intel chip-sets. I have in my last 2 Mobo’s and haven’t had any problems. Except! I’d stay away from Abit. I had 2 BE7’s bo bad on me. And I’ve had some problems with Abit some years ago also. That one had a VIZ chipset and I had nothing but problems.

I’m running Vegas 5 and DVDA2 on an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe along with a P4 3.0C and 1 gig Corsair PC4000 high speed memory with no problems. I’ve got the processor overclocked to a 3.6Ghz and it is completely stable.

look over at videoguys.com they have 2 DIY systems they have built .. one around 1000.. other around $2000

I like motherboards made by intel for video work. They are stable and no frills. Look at the 875 series by Intel if you’re going P4 single processor.
