I put subtitles in the DVDA (version 3) project. They show up when turned on in the DVDA preview, but I can’t seem to turn them on after I burn the disk and play from it in the Windows Media Player. The normal captions option isn’t available to be turned on in the WMP player options. What am I doing wrong, and/or what player does support these captions?

    thanks,

Subtitles don’t play in WM player. You need to use Excalibur to turn your subtitles in Vegas veg into closed caption text, then render. What Excalibur does is, it converts “regions” which are = to “subtitles”; into “command markers” which are = to “closed captions”.

thanks for your reply. But I don’t want to render as a .wmv. I want to burn a DVD disc in DVDA then play it on a computer. When I popped it in, the WMP came up and played the DVD, but the subtitles didn’t show. I tried it in WinDVD, but couldn’t seem to turn the subtitles on either. What DVD player on the computer supports the subtitles?

to see DVD subtitles in WMP, You need to make that selection on your DVD menu to show them. Closed captions may be seen in Windows Media Player by clicking: “Play–Captions & Subtitles–On”.
