This is probably VERY simple, but it has eluded me.

How do I capture a single frame (digital still) from

    1. A video in my media box, i.e., the source materials

    2. From the rendered video, i.e. the resulting video from my project

(I know how to capture a single frame while capturing from tape.)

Put the cursor on the frame you wish to capture. Hit the “Save Snapshot” button just above the preview screen. For a better result, you may want to change the preview mode to “Best (Full)”. For the best results, there’s a couple other settings that also need to be changed. Your best bet is to use a script that makes all these setting changes for you, saves the snapshot, and then resets them all back.
