I am fairly confident with After effects and i have CS3 but today when i write my text the text appears jagged like it has not been rasterized. However it is rasterized and the quality is set to best and even when i scale up or down the text the text is still jagged.

The only thing i have changed since this suddenly happend is that i have installed some new fonts in to my fonts folder. Now you will say well just remove the fonts but i have installed over 50 and cant remember what the new ones are

Has anyone got any clues to why my font is doing this. I have a picture to show you what i mean thank you

Looks to me like you’ve turned on the aspect ratio correction. Turn it off, or make yourself a square-pixel comp, and that should sort it out.

”you’ve turned on the aspect ratio correction. Turn it off”

how do i turn it off ?

When i change the composition to Square Pixels it fixes the problem but
    only when its square pixels

    thank you

No problem. Don’t you hate it when it’s something silly like that? I wouldn’t have known what it was unless I had run into the same thing on the first version of AE that had that feature (7, maybe?) and I was looking at my stuff saying “Why does the text look like crap???”

As a point of procedure, though, keep in mind that even though it looks rough in the preview, it WILL render clean in the final output. Not sure why AE can’t handle the pixel aspect issue better, but there you are…
