    You can use “record position” to manually move around an emitter, then export that position data to the clipboard. Then you can select the “Layer Offset” and import the position data from the clipboard and the layer will now have this “shaking” motion.

    BUT… any background images won’t be affected by this. So if you want to shake your footage and your effects, you’ll need to use another application most likely.

    A good program to obtain the camera-shake is VideoShaker from Prodad.

    The web site says it’s included in the demo version of Mercalli, but also notes this demo version puts a red cross on output – does anyone know whether the red cross appears in the Video Shaker output?

    I only can tell you that the red cross will not appear in the registrated version of VideoShaker.
