  background color- particle illusion

  in particle illusion how do i make the background transparent on my bottom layer? i want to export the file into final cut pro and have the background transparent.

  First, you need to select an image format or Quicktime compressor that supports alpha channel (transparency). If you’re saving a QT movie, you also have to set the color depth to the highest setting.

  Then check the “Save Alpha” option in the Output Options dialog.

  Note that particleIllusion only creates an alpha channel for the particles — so you’ll probably want to turn off the bg footage when rendering, and composite it again in FCP.
