Background Animation Size Limits
Following a thread I posted yesterday on a complex PI3 project with SuperEmitters, I followed Alan’s suggestion to create a Full Frames Uncompressed AVI with the source scene and just these emitters separately. This worked well.
Attempting to re-import this FFU AVI however (about 920Mb), I can play it outside PI3, I can select it inside PI3 and see the first frame in the file selection menu, however when loaded, the stage is just black.
Any ideas what might cause this to happen? Is it the file size perhaps?
No fancy codec – just Full Frames Uncompressed AVI as generated from PI3, and it otherwise plays perfectly…I’m hoping this is just a ‘glitch’ – I need lossless footage from my first comp, to act as the background to my second..

Couple of suggestions:
– Make sure the “don’t use texture RAM…” option in the OpenGL page of the pIllusion preferences is checked.
– Try using the Huffy UV codec instead of uncompressed. It uses a lossless compression (like ZIP or PNG files do)
– Try creating a PNG or TGA sequence instead of an uncompressed AVI.

I went the PNG route in the end, not sure if it was a codec issue, but have also d/l HuffyUV 2.2.0 which I may try in as a future alternative…
