I have an 8 second AE animation using Zaxworks and it takes around 40 hours to export. I have the shadows cranked. Looking at my activity bars for the processors, only one was really doing anything at any one time. So I see I can enable multiprocessors and it recommends to turn down the memory and cache. So i turn them down and try to render my animation. Well for some reason it is only exporting a single frame. I guess it’s the first frame as the exported movie doesn’t show anything.

    I’m running CS3 on a 2.66 Quad Core, OS 10.5.5 with 5GB of RAM. I have an NVIDIA 7300.

Any idea what the hey? I’ve tried a few settings for memory and cache and have not been very lucky. Anyone know the optimal settings to get this rig cranking?

OK I manages to get the configuration down and my processor activity bar looks like it’s going to explode. Solid green, which I like. The same 3D logo that took almost 40 hours is now looking like it will be more like 15 or so. which is better. I guess I can live with that.
