  Broadcast Quality mpeg2 – Software to transcode?

  Hi,
  I was wondering if anyone could tell me what software out there can transcode from quicktime ProRes to high bitrate mpeg2 described below?

  I have Final Cut Studio 2 suite and Adobe CS3 suite. I looked at the Apple compressor 4 manual, but all the settings for mpeg 2 are the same as the old one and only go up to 40mbps for Mpeg2. Anyone using newer CS5 to do this?

  • Video Codec: MPEG2
  • Bit-rate: 80 Mbps; (min 50 Mbps if A/V quality approved)
  • Bit-rate mode: CBR
  • GOP: I frame only
  • Resolution: 1920×1080
  • Scanning: Progressive
  • Frame Rate: 23.98 (23.976)
  • Profile: 422@HL
  • Aspect Ratio: 16:9
  • Closed Captioning: CEA-708 NADBS
  • Container: MPEG2 Transport (.ts) Preferred Program Stream (.mpg) or MXF (.mxf)

  • Bit-rate: 50 Mbps; (min 25 Mbps if A/V quality approved)
  • Bit-rate mode: CBR
  • GOP: I frame only
  • Resolution: 720×480
  • Scanning: Interlaced
  • Frame Rate: 29.97
  • Profile: 422@ML
  • Aspect Ratio: 4:3
  • Closed Captioning: CEA-608-B
  • Container: MPEG2 Transport (.ts) Preferred Program Stream (.mpg) or MXF (.mxf)

  Someone else recently told me to checkout their Episode software. I was kinda hoping there were some other options out there, but it seems like this is the software for it.
