  • Flicker problem. Help please!

    Hi all,
I’m having flickering issues with what seems to be all shots where the camera looks down on my scene and travels laterally. More specifically, my scene shows a board game and the cam is looking down at it directly from the top (parallel to the board) and traveling across it. As soon as i break the angle, the flickering stops. I’m using 3ds max 2009 and i’m rendering with vray. I actually faced the same problem in after effects once. I had a traveling camera from left to right and multiple 3d layers parallel to its path. I wasn’t able to resolve it. I’m almost sure this is the same problem. Movement parallel to the camera plane flickers. I tried, rendering to fields and applying directional blur in post. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

    Thank you.

Apply the ‘Stop motion Blur’ plug-in (FCP has this and I believe all other editing NLS do to.) Try the following settings:
    Time lapse – 1
    Steps – 1
    Initial opacity (52) flexible quality
    Decay opacity – 0
    Blend operator – add
