hi, i’ve been looking around and researching on how to export transparent swfs. I have this smoke animation on this graphic but i dont want to haf the solid background. I’ve tried exporting as PNG sequence but it’s not really the same in terms of quality, basically it looks opposite of what i want to achieve. So, an easier way would be to just export it as a swf since i’m going to edit it later in flash mx, But i still cant find a way to export from after effects to transparent swfs, can anyone help? thanks a lot.

    Hi,

if you don’t have a background image, your swf will be transparant and the background-color will be set to the same value as AE’s background.

However if you want semi-transparant art-work in Vector-format, I believe it is not possible.
pacity-values do get exported correctly, but if you have for example an illustrator layer of glasses where the glas is 20% transparant and the frame is opaque, then on exporting, the glas will also be opaque.

This is not supported in Flash either (atleast I think so) because when you import An illustrator file in Flash, the samething happens.
