I have a camera moving through a 3d space, it also has some orientation motion on it. I have managed to smooth out a lot of the motion using easy ease, but its still a bit clunky. What is the best way to exaggerate the easy easy element?

Should i smooth out the valleys in my speed graph? Not having the valleys hit 0/sec? Or try to smooth out elements in my value graph? Or both? The editing of the value graph appears to be quite difficult.

The main culprit appears to be when a changing value stops changing and becomes held or constant (a flat line) in the value graph.

Any help would be great as im going to have a little cry now.

    Cheers
    i.

I’m not sure what you are trying to achieve so I’m just making a stab at what your problem might be… have you also animated and eased the point of interest? Easing one and not the other can create awkward animations problems.

    Cheers Brian

As far as i can tell, getting a nice smooth camera motion appears to be a combination of lots of things, smoothing of velocity in the speed graph, so movements happen at similar speeds, smoothing of the motion paths, using a null as a parent for my cameras point of interest, smoothing that nulls motion path and also trying not to have to many changes of direction at once. But most of all trying to keep it all as simple as possible.

There doesnt seem to be one answer. I found the editing of the value graph quite difficult and of little use and have now tried to avoid it. Not ideal, as im sure its there for a reason, but i now have the results i need without it. Having spent over a day working on this, i now have 10 seconds of usable camera movement. My advice to anyone doing complex camera movements for the first time, is set aside a weekend to get into it!

    Cheers all.
