  Broadcast monitor to G5?

  hi
  I am new at this. I have a G5 and would like to buy
  a broadcast monitor. Do I need an adaparter video card
  for this or there is anyway I can attach the monitor
  to the secondvideo output of th G5?

  You need either a PCI card that wouold be installed in your G5 that gives you a video output, or a DV to analog video converter. This would plug into your firewire port. Set up preferences in your edit system to send video out firewire port. You could also use any camcorder with firewire connection and then an analog output. Most DV cams have this.

  there are also adapters that you hook up to your second monitor output that converts it to Composite/S-Video/Component.

  Thats probably the cheapest solution.
  I own one of those myself, it’s called Keylite.
