    Hi,

Recently I had some of my old 16mm films transferred to 2.3K (2048 x 1556). They were color graded, then exported as 2.3K DPX files and as ProRes422HQ (1920 x 1080). The films were all originally shot at 25 fps and I’m working completely in the PAL world (Germany).

What is the best way to downres and compress the files for a PAL DVD? I want to make sure that viewers watch the films in the original 4:3 format and that the films don’t automatically stretch on 16:9 TVs.

I was planning to do all the authoring in DVD Studio Pro. I have to add alternative audio tracks and three different subtitle streams.

I’m working on a MacBookPro with OX 10.11.3 and have the latest versions of FCPX and Compressor.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Best,

    Rick Minnich
