  Exporting XDCAM EX files for further editting: Which format?

  I have MP4 files from my SONY EX-3 (XDCAM EX). I want to color correct the files in After effects. After that I want to use Premiere to edit it all. In order to retain the original quality I want to export to a proper format. Now I could use AVI or MOV-container, but lossless gives me very large files. What could be the best solution. In other words, which format should I export to?

  For FCP work I wrap in .mov This is NOT a transcode. I’m using the native codec. I don’t doubt Premiere can handle it as well.

  You may want to watch their Adobe tutorial although it might be a bit dated.
